s contagious yawning anything to do with love, tiredness or even empathy? Experts so far believed that this was the case and their many theories were based on this assumption.
But now they will have to change it all as a new study denies this whole argument that was so forcefully put forward by many.
So far experts were of the opinion that contagious yawning actually showed high level of tiredness or love or similar things. But now they all will have to make amends.
To be true the latest finding is going to make the expert work more vigorously as to what the contagious yawning actually means and how it may affect the people involved in it.
A press release issued by the team says, “The lack of association in our study between contagious yawning and empathy suggests that contagious yawning is not simply a product of one’s capacity for empathy”. The lead author of the report Elizabeth Cirulli, Ph.D., an assistant professor of medicine says, “Age was the most important predictor of contagious yawning, and even age was not that important. The vast majority of variation in the contagious yawning response was just not explained”.
The report while further throwing light on its finding further says, “It is possible that if we find a genetic variant that makes people less likely to have contagious yawns, we might see that variant or variants of the same gene also associated with schizophrenia or autism…Even if no association with a disease is found, a better understanding of the biology behind contagious yawning can inform us about the pathways involved in these conditions”. This means that the whole argument about contagious argument has come down crashing.
