Teena Henson: the Wonder Woman of Weight Loss

Like most people who are obese, Teena Henson, a 5’4″, 332 pound lady was gaining weight every day. She states that it was a newspaper ad that had completely changed her life. A health club, named ‘Anytime Fitness’ opened in Gilmer, Texas her hometown. She had made up her mind to join this health club, regardless of the cost because it offered 24/7 services. She enrolled herself in the gym, even when it was still under construction.

Prior to that, she was trying some diets and it was not working for her though she lost a few kilograms. In spite of being obese, she did not have any other health complications, but she had a high risk of diabetes because it is run in the family with both her parents and three siblings being diabetic.
Midway through her exercise regimen, she had lost her mother, whom she refers to as the number one supporter of the weight loss plan and exercise regimen. According to work, DIET is a four letter word for failure.
In an interview Henson stated that smallest change one person is ready to make in the lifestyle will bring in big changes, both physically and mentally. She started by changing her eating habits, cut down on unnecessary soft drinks that had added sugars, which resulted in 18 pounds of weight loss in the first month.
Post this, she started making healthier food choices and by end of the year 2011 she had lost 64 pounds and was healthier than she has ever been before. But, she was still on fast food diet most of the time because it was convenient for her.
By August 2012, she had lost 100 pounds which was due to changing eating habits like including wheat breads, fresh vegetables and so on. Her aim was to eat 1,200 cal a day, which helped to lose 166 in less than three years.
